The Days of St. Pe tersburg in Tel Aviv During the visit of St. Petersburg the Mayor V.I. Matvienko, which was rich in events and numerous meetings, "The Days of Northern Capital in RCC" were being held. To this event RCC timed an extensive exposition of colored photos by famous Petersburg painter Vladimir Egorovsky; and exposition of canvasses "Petersburg Nostalgia" by the artist Irina Barulya, the laureate of a number of national and international exhibitions, was sited in the Picture Gallery. Besides, RCC visitors can enjoy the works by artisans from Alexander-Nevsaky Lavra's art-trade workshops, exhibited in RCC showcases. Petersburg publishing houses "Slavia" and Zlatoust" displayed their new production – albums and books about the city on the Neva River, as well as scientific instructive manuals on methods of Russian language teaching abroad. St. Petersburg Mayor visited RCC escorted by the city's Vice Governor, the members of city's administration and legislation assembly. She was also accompanied by P.V. Stegniy – the ambassador of Russia in Israel and embassy employees. After that the warm extended meeting of the precious guest from Petersburg and the leaders and activists of veterans' unions of Israel, association of Leningrad "blockadnicks" of Israel, the Union of partisans and Ghetto fighters was being held. The Mayor congratulated veterans with Victory Day and wished them health and longevity, spoke about numerous positive changes in the image of Leningrad – St. Petersburg, answered the numerous questions asked by veterans. "The Days of St. Petersburg" program includes the work of picture and photo expositions, new books, edited by Petersburg publishing houses, presentations, and new movies' demonstration.
