In October this year we mark 195 years since the birth of the great Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov (1814-1841). The anniversary of the genius of Russian literature in the Russian Cultural Center's library in Tel Aviv launched the literary and art exhibition. Mysteries of fate and creativity MY Lermontov's still concerned about the hearts and minds of those who love and appreciate Russian literature. "This life was destined to produce a brilliant meteor ... and - disappear in all its glory ...», - so responded VG Belinsky of the untimely tragic departure of the outstanding poet.
The visitors are offered the RCC editions of Lermontov from new acquisitions in the library. The exhibition also presented a book about the life and work of MU Lermontov, written by K. Paustovsky, I. Andronikov, G. Gulia and other prominent Russian writers. It shows the material from the encyclopedia "The Golden Book of Russian Culture", dedicated to the poet, the album eloquently tells of Lermontov memorial places in Russia, M. Vrubel illustration to the poem "Demon" and reproductions of works by Lermontov himself as an artist.
For philologists, specialists in Russian philology and Russian teachers compiled a selection of interesting methodological developments lessons on the material of MY Lermontov from the fund of the Cabinet of the Russian language RCC.
Creative classics of Russian literature are known and appreciated in Israel. The exhibition includes a Lermontov's poetry in the Hebrew translation of Israeli poet and a prominent statesman Moshe Sharett (1894-1965).
Visitors can listen to an audiobook of Lermontov's poetry and watch video on the poem "Borodino", performed by masters of art of reading Mikhail Kozakov.
The RCCs web-site section "Literary Calendar" has been devoted to the jubilee MY Lermontov's materials about his life and work, accompanied by music and poetry videos.
